Vintage Seventies Sapphire, diamond & 14K Gold Ring

Centering upon an unheated Sri Lankan cabochon sapphire weighing approximately 16.48 cts., within a hammered, fluted, 14 K gold mounting, further accented by diamonds at the cardinal points, circa 1970.

Classically 70s, this ring is better described as a knuckle duster. Bold and chic.

I found the ring on one of my treasure hunting missions, and it was originally set with an unappealing carved emerald. There was no question in my mind that the ring was meant for better. Upon my return, one of my skilled jewelers replaced the center stone this juicy jellybean of a cabochon sapphire.

Born in Sri Lanka, this sapphire originally weighed approximately 17.50 cts. when I originally purchased it in an Art Deco ring. It was repolished to bring out the wonderful polish of a sapphire.

Size 7.5. This ring can be sized, and likely may be worn by someone up to ring size 8.

Gem Materials: cabochon sapphire weighs 16.48 cts.; 8 diamonds together weigh approximately 0.50 cts. diamonds total weight

 Hallmarks & stamps: None.
